Laptop Out For The Count Yesterday, two main things happened. Me and Hamish concluded our academic activities for another year, freeing us up more for Piga. Sadly it was also on this day that our new Fedora 8 laptop chose to malfunction. The computer would not recognize the power supply/cord and was actually draining the battery (only with about 25% charge remaining). The computer is now off and kept in storage until repairs. One note of interest is that for some reason the cord makes a meek beeping noise, hmm... Anyhow we researched the issue and found this to be a common problem for Dell laptops of its ilk. All we can do now is wait, though we have found a purchasable replacement cord on the web and it is in our cue. I am now on the backup laptop (the old Win98 one) and thus most of my projects are shot for the time being. I can still work on the FE SDL engine however on our Fedora 9 workstation. However I am still going to keep myself busy in the multitude of projects I can still accesses (some non-Piga related). One of the most notable for Piga is that since I am FORCED onto a machine running a Microsoft operating system I am going to put more work into Donut Quest 1.5 which we announced we would complete EVENTUALLY last December. Lets just hope I can go back to Linux coding soon.
